Many apologies for the little vacay my friends…spent the last three weeks nursing my back after getting in ANOTHER car accident! This time it featured a highway just outside of the ironically named town of Hope, and an adolescent black bear running in front of the vehicle going 110km/h. Good news though, no serious harm, other than some pelvic alignment issues for yours truly, and a major rebuild on the vehicle. Can’t say the same for our furry friend, but at least there was no suffering. Oh, and the Laser on the roof of the jeep? Held perfectly! Damn this woman can tie a boat down!
On a more exciting note, the first batch of 49er FX rigs have been shipped out from Mackay boats and they’re very pretty. I have indeed ordered a rig, which arrived on Friday. Good timing actually, because at 4:30pm on a Friday, what else is there to do besides drop everything and drool over a new carbon fibre toy? Looks like she’s going to be a nice rig indeed, and I must say that they’re way easier to assemble than a 470. The rig is shorter in person that it was on the videos, a bit like when you see an actor or rock star in real person and they are not, in fact, larger than life. The rig is now up on a training boat while I wait for Hunter Lowden’s pretty Olympic boat to make its way into my clutches (thanks Hunter, can’t wait!), and after a day or so of shore drill, we’ll be hitting the water with the go-pro so you can see the fun and mayhem. Here are some pics of the rig, let me know what you think!
