Wow, has it been a long time or what?!! Okay, here is what the last two and a half years has done to cause me to not post ANYTHING EVER:
Accounting.
Got a cat.
Got engaged (can you believe it?? My Mum won’t have to pay Jonny to date me anymore!)
Yup, that’s what I’ve been doing. Well, that and repeatedly answering the question “Why are you becoming an accountant? I thought you were a sailor!” Lol! This actually comes not only from my sailing team mates, but my family, friends, and even my co-workers in accounting land. My response has typically been one of the following:
a) I got cold.
b) I wanted to retire one day
c) You can only watch so many tiller switches in your life
d) Accounting is actually pretty sweet. You know those nerdy moments when you’re like “hey! Based on the daily average compass bearings and those nimbus clouds over there, I think we should go left” or better yet “Oh man, I can’t WAIT to go down to the boat park and spend three hours setting my spreader deflection/upper mast bend profile/aligning my foils…this is going to be SAAWEEET!” It’s like that – high on the nerd spectrum but pretty bad ass when you learn how to harness it. Err…not that I’ve learned even a fraction of what there is to know about either sailing or accounting.
So with that. Hi. In case you forgot me, I’m Jen, your local Salty Sister. And I’d like to say I’m back.
PS. Here is a gratuitous cat shot of Excalibur on his first Christmas when we dressed him up like a reindeer. Who knew cats could scowl?
Congrats from Uncle John and I on your engagement any idea when you may set the date. As for being an accountant it is in your blood so why not.
So good to see a Salty Sister surface again.
